Thanks for your post, and the suggestion.
KCC is aware of the Prime Four Trust, but it is currently not in operation, and it only gives out £5,000 per year. This is to be split between various community groups who apply. We may contact Drum to see if they can help, but we need a plan.
KCC is exploring some options, but we are really in the early stages, and time is against us. The best option Kingswells has in the short term is for ACC to subsidise the route.
We are really keen to hear from anyone who may have suggestions.
HI - Given that first bus and stagecoach both feel the route is not economically viable, it looks like the only option is to get ACC to provide a subsidy for the bus service to continue. We are unclear now what will happen and when.
As an aside - I had a look on the Prime Four website and it would seem that they have a Community Trust. Has this been considered as a possible option in terms of them providing funding for the local bus service?? I note in bold that the amenities at Prime Four are supposed to be accessible for residents. What about those residents from Kingswells that (once the bus service ends) will be unable to get there, or to the park and ride? Might be worth a try as we obviously need to think outside the box for solutions now!
On their website it says that: consultation with the local community in Kingswells began in 2011, and has helped shape the services developed as part of 'The Fourcourt' the high-class amenities hub within Prime Four. A nursery, a deli, a Starbucks and an Urban Bar & Grill all surround the full-service four-star Village Urban Resort hotel with conferencing and leisure facilities (including a fully equipped health club, swimming pool and spa). The Fourcourt is the central point for events providing a sense of community, interaction and a buzzing social area. The Fourcourt amenities are all located in close proximity to the local suburbs of Kingswells, making them accessible for residents.
The Prime Four Community Trust has also been established to benefit local charitable groups operating in the Kingswells’ Community Council Area. Funding for the Trust is being provided through Drum Property Group and will be administered through Foundation Scotland with all decisions being made via the Community Trust Panel.
Kingswells Community Council oversaw the recruitment of the local Community Panel and the final make up of the Panel includes representatives of the Community Council and from local groups and interested individuals who reside in the area.

As you may be aware First plan to stop the X40 and 11 bus services in Kingswells from 1st April.
ACC have been in talks with Stagecoach to see if there was some way for them to provide some sort of replacement. Unfortunately, Stagecoach have not been able to find an economic solution.
There is still a possibility that ACC will provide a subsidy for the provision of a bus service, but those talks continue.
KCC is looking for suggestions for a fallback solution. If you have any ideas please let us know, so they can be considered and explored as alternative options. The solutions would probably involve how we get people to and from the P&R and also look at solutions for folk doing internal journeys within Kingswells.
Let's hope we don't need these fallback options; but we need to act now if we are to find a solution before the end of March.
