Will take twenty years for the trees to grow back
Ian, this is the reply I received :
..........."The reduction of the tree line was agreed during the planning process as part of the A944 improvement works. The existing P&R entrance will be closing, and the main boulevard that will run into Prime Four will also be the entrance for the P&R, which will be integrated into the development. The dual carriageway will be widened to three lanes on either side and the roundabout moved to accommodate and improve access to Prime Four and the Kingswells turn off.
I would ask that you do not necessarily judge the finished site from what are artists impressions or as it currently exists, but once the building and road improvement works have concluded, and the extensive landscaping, tree and shrub planting programme for both the A944 and the site as a whole has been completed and had some time to grow in.
Thank you again for your interest and writing in."
You are correct - all the info we have been provided show trees.
The new entrance is along from the P&R entrance - this will be closed off.
The reason given for the removal of the trees is to provide a slip road into the Prime Four site. KCC have asked Drum to provide tree planing along the edge of the slip road we have to wait to see if they do anything about it.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, I know, I know. They're invading our village along with others.
The chopped down trees will be used as fire wood at their "accommodation" camp!!!! (The green PortoKabins)
So it's not a complete waste. The smell of burning fire wood & roasted roe dear will waft across the village of Kingswells, along with the romantic sounds of our eastern European chums singing around their camp fire.
It's not even in the village Kingswells, so who actually gives a stuff !!!
I received a leaflet in the post today from Primefour, so I visited their website and this is what I wrote to them...
......."Could you please tell me why you have chopped down a substantial amount of mature trees along the A944, when it appears from your website that you will be using the existing P&R entrance ? I did notice however, that on all your literature and video promotions that the trees are still being shown. Are you going to plant them again ? (is it possible to plant 30-40 year old trees?)..."
I surely can't be the only person wondering why they chopped the trees down.
