I work on Lang Stracht and now, instead of one bus home (X40), I will have to get three buses home. One into town, one to the park and ride and then the X94 to the other end of Kingswells!!! Hardly practical!!!
Avril I appreciate your problem, and agree with your point of view.
Can I suggest another option? It is not ideal; but may be quicker than going into town and back again.
If you get to Woodend, and walk across the hospital to the Hazelhead Road. You could then catch the X17 to the P&R.
I hope there is an excellent turnout to protest about these inadequate plans proposed by ACC. These times suit some but we need a service that works for all. We need a properly routed service that will meet the needs of workers, the elderly, the young, the social users, the occasional users. Please encourage people to come to this meeting and let ACC know that we can't and won't accept this as a working alternative to a real service.
The new bus service that will be discussed at the public meeting on Thursday is shown on the attached PDF. Essentially, the X94 will loop the village and the Park& Ride at the am and pm peak, and the 94 will loop the village, P&R, Crematorium, Woodend and ARI between the peak periods.
The public meeting is at 7pm at the Community Centre on Thursday 30th March. The meeting will be chaired by ACC and you will find out more about the proposals for Kingswells bus service and you will be able to raise any concerns.
