We are writing to express our concerns regarding the proposed football stadium development at Kingsford and the potential serious impact it will have on the Kingswells community. We moved here 4 years ago and one of the main reasons was because of the amount of green space and the area wasn't over-developed. This proposed development along with the continual expansion of the Prime 4 site will mean a loss of this green space environment and will totally change the character of the west side of the town to an urban sprawl.
Another serious concern would be the impact on traffic congestion/parking on an already busy road system and the park and ride being used by large amounts of football supporters. At the consultation meeting we attended at the 4 Mile House the Aberdeen Football Club representatives implied that the majority of football matches would just be every second Saturday with the odd week day game. However we know this is no longer the case because of tv sponsorship and cup games along with the potential use of the stadium for music concerts etc the stadium could be used up to 3 times a week. They also played down "anti-social" behaviour saying this was a thing of the past in football. However this is not the case you just have to look at the recent incidents at the Scottish cup final and the European championships.
