1 Introduction by Chair       
2 Police Report
Police report was received by email.For another month, there was a view that the report did not contain sufficient detail,.Alan is to contact the police to seek a solution Alan
Parking near the school continues to be a problem.The issue was discussed at length and possible solutions could be:

  • Introduction of additional yellow lines
  • Introduction of no waiting between 8:00 -9:30 and
    15:00-16:00

It was agreed to contact ACC Roads Dept. to assess the options and to seek a recommendation.

5 Approval of minutesLast month’s minutes were approved.
6 Matters Arising from the previous meeting
  There has been no progress in initiating the planned tree planting between Prime Four and the Kingswells roundabout.Tom is to chase. Tom
  Further to the issues with the road surface on Broaddykes Drive. Stan now has a petition with 120 signatures. He asked for permission to use this in the name of KCC. Steve had still to report back on his actions from last month’s meeting. Stan was asked to wait until Steve’s feedback was available.
7 Planning & Environmental Issues
Tom described the some points made at Countesswells Consortium meeting:

  • They will be seeking planning approval in June
  • Masterplan in March
  • Plan to build 250 homes / year
  • Bus and cycle routes will be incorporated.
  • 1st of two primary schools will be available by the time the 400th home is sold.
  • Braeside Primary school will be used until 1st primary school is available.
  • There will be a central park
  • Countesswells Avenue will remain as is.
  • Main access will be by a new junction which will replace the roundabout at the end of the Lang Stracht.
  • Existing Cults / Kingswells road will be bus / existing residents access only.
  Main issues report consultation will provide an opportunity to support ACC. Tom and Ian to summarise and email to other members. TomIan
8 Accounts
There was no change to the balance of accounts.
9 AOCB
  There was a report of ‘travellers’ acting in an intimidating manner. KCC should write an article for the next newsletter. No cold calling should be encouraged.
  The traffic lights at the roundabout stop at 6pm, but the heavy traffic continues until about 6:30pm. KCC is to ask for this to be monitored / adjusted KCC
10 Date of Next meeting:
Next meeting will be on Monday 10th March 2014 in coffee shop of Kingswells Community Centre. Meeting closed at 22:20.
