Police Report

Police report was provided by Email.

Area Inspector’s Observations

During this particular reporting period there were only three reported incidents of antisocial behaviour.

A review of this small number of incidents showed they occurred in the vicinity of Kingswells Home Farm (derelict buildings), Kingswells Avenue and Kingswood Drive areas. These areas will be patrolled more regularly by officers from your Community Policing Team to ensure there is no escalation over the coming weeks as we move into the summer period.

There was one ‘motorcycle’ tagged incident which when reviewed confirmed that this involved number of males riding a motor cycle on public footway between Kingswells and Mastrick area.

You will recall in last month’s police report information was provided to highlight that Police Scotland were carrying out investigations into a small number of grassland type fires in the Kingswells area.

During this latest reporting period there has only been one fire related call of this type which occurred in the vicinity of Congraig Gardens.

Patrols will continue to be carried out in the areas previously affected by fire-raisings to ensure every effort is made to prevent any further incidents and detect those responsible.

Of the other fire related incident referred to in this report, this was detected to a young male who deliberately set fire to items of family property.

There were two overnight motor vehicle related crimes. These occurred in the Bethlin Wews and Wellside Close areas and on both occasions the owners vehicles had been left insecure.

Once again this reinforces the general police message where assistance is sought from local residents and vehicles owners to adopt basic security measures by simply checking doors and windows are properly secured.

There was a serious assault which involved a male being struck by a weapon which would have occurred within the Clinterty area. Enquiries continue into this incident

Due to the geographical capture area of statistical information, this particular incident is recorded within the Kingswell area.

The assault and robbery related incident would have occurred on an unnamed track in the general vicinity of the Fernhill Reservoir area and involved the owner of a motorcycle being assaulted prior to the vehicle being stolen. This crime has been detected and the offender reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

.

There was concern that the police report did not reflect a claim by the Crime Reduction team that there had been a number of break ins to garages in Kingswells. Ian is to contact the police.
