During this particular reporting period there was only the solitary public nuisance call. Such figures are pleasing to see.

This related to a water balloon being thrown onto the windscreen of a car on Kingswells Crescent where there was unfortunately no unit available to attend. There have been no other similar reports since.

Mobile patrols have continued in the Kingswells area throughout the reporting period.

Kathy reported that she was aware of an attempted break-in last week around the 1st October. The incident was not recorded in the police report.

Police advised that they were aware of an incident that happened earlier today (10th Oct), but were not aware of the above incident.

Members of the public

Claire provided an update on bus issues.

Public events are to be held on Wednesday and Saturday of this week. The events are well advertised by ACC with notices posted on each bus stop in Kingswells.

First have advised that they will cancel the service.

Matters Arising the previous meetings

Benches: the 5th bench will be installed ASAP. There was a view that this should be completed before the weather becomes problematic.

Derbeth Pond: Dave advised that he had a meeting setup for the end of October.

Flooding on Footpath at edge of Bucksburn valley: Dave advised that Ann Williams of ACC Roads Department had examined the pipework system using cameras and has reported a problem with roots blocking the system.

ACC dispute ownership.

Gillahill Path: There is a problem with uncontrolled vegetation blocking the path and views from the path and view point. Initially, ACC were fairly positive about getting something done; but they now claim the ground is not owned by them.

The path is part of the core path network, and its use and pleasure it generates are severely compromised by the lack of maintenance.

Dave will meet with ACC to determine what progress can be made.

Planning & Environmental Issues

Work continues with the buses to determine community views and to suggest possible solutions to provide Kingswells with a suitable bus service.

Much of the work has been online as there are various petitions going around. KCC has been promoting the online petition as it encourages respondents to provide their reasons for signing. KCC is monitoring the feedback, and this is in agreement with the solutions promoted on the KCC website.

Various members will be attending the consultation events to gauge views and to pass on information they have gathered.

KCC thank the members of public involved with the petitions. Its good to see the community in action.

Current planning issues include the proposed stadium at Kingsford and the principle of providing retail at Prime Four.

KCC members are working with Westhill & Elrick Community Council and have attended various meetings to identify the main issues with a stadium at Kingsford. There is no formal planning application at the moment. It is expected that this will be submitted early in December.

KCC need to prepare a submission re the Prime Four Retail.

Accounts

No change to the accounts.

9

AOCB

Possible projects: There was some discussion on possible projects to improve the use of some of the green spaces around Kingswells.

KCC agreed that they should create a questionnaire to gauge the views of the public, and they should find out what clubs are catered for within all the venues in Kingswells with a view to assessing the need for additional community facilities.
