Police Report

Police report was presented by email and is available on the kwells.org website. Raymond confirmed it would be acceptable to post on the web.

The report shows that there is a drop in crime stats compared to 2006.

The stats only show crime that is reported, so it is important to report incidents. Calls that are reported are categorised in terms of how serious the incident is:

Level 1: receives an immediate response

Level 2: police will respond in 2-3 hours

Levels 3-5: will receive a response by a neighbourhood officer.

ALL calls are recorded.

Issues raised directly with Richard may be dealt with by Richard himself. If this is the case then it may be possible that the incident does not appear on the crime stats. This is left to the discretion of the officer whether a Storm incident is raised.

Police will only deal with fly-tipping if there is evidence to identify the owner either in the rubbish or a car registration. The first point of contact should be Aberdeen City Council. They have a policy to deal with any tipping on a gypsy camp.

Stan asked if the police could make use of the CCTV photos from the proposed CCTV system. These will be available to key people via the internet. Raymond will report back.

Raymond

Barrie asked Raymond to write an article for the newsletter. Raymond agreed to do so.

Raymond

Raymond requested that he be included in any emails to Richard.

Elaine's Update

It was suggested that the Fly Tipping Officer could be part of the team supporting the Gypsy Halting Sites.

Central Coaches and a lorry have been parked in the Park & Ride. Elaine to raise with Tracey Boylan the Parking Officer.

Elaine

The signs in the P&R are not official enough and are not acting as a deterrent. The signs should have something like "By Order ACC" added to make them more official.

Elaine

Large gatherings are using the P&R. It was thought that someone in ACC must know what is going on and providing the authority.

Ray Beard will attend the November meeting to discuss service standard and schedule.

The central pond safety issues will be dealt with before March

ACC

The school pond will be re-assessed

The Derbeth Pond requires the ownership to be clarified.

Work is about to start on the new build Bankhead Academy. KCC were asked if they wished to have input into any issues. Pat Duffy normally keeps KCC up to date with any issues, and this relationship should be adequate.
