Kingswells

It was noticed that the incidence of under-aged drinking was significantly reduced.

There are several email scams going about at the moment from banks and the lottery. Advice is to delete without opening. Usual way to verify is to check the email address of the sender - they tend not to be from the bank. Your bank will never ask for your security details.

Kingswells

Some cut trees have been dumped on the public area near Broaddykes Crescent. Wardens have the power to issue fixed penalty notices.

Wardens

Reg was thanked for his attendance on his day off.

Points from Member of the Public

New Member

Colleen Manson was proposed and seconded as a co-opted member of KCC. Colleen is the chair of Sovereign Heights Residents' Association.

Letter Regarding the CCTV System

A letter has been received from a resident expressing concern about the angle of sight of one of the CCTV cameras. The camera is reported to point directly to the house and garden of the resident. The camera is considered to invade the privacy of the resident and thus contravenes the Data Protection Act in respect to proper use of CCTV systems. The resident requests that the camera be adjusted. The resident stated that they were unwilling to view the images recorded by the camera.

The matter was discussed, it was pointed out that:

1.      The camera in question points towards the location of the Christmas tree and does not invade the privacy of any resident. The main focus of the camera is the car park entrance.

2.      The police have confirmed that the system complies with legal requirements.

KCC concluded that the complaint by the resident was not justified and the camera would not be moved. A response would be agreed and Alan would respond to the letter.

Kingswells Forum

As KCC had spent much time on the Forum dealing with the above issue, it was concluded that further involvement with this topic would be futile. No other responses would be posted, but if residents had concerns than they could still write to, phone or email KCC.
