Matters Arising (not covered below)

CCTV

Examination of the CCTV pictures indicated that some camera adjustment was required to avoid glare from the sun. The cameras were adjusted to improve the quality of the recorded images.

The resident who requested data from the CCTV system was provided with the images and the £10 fee collected was donated to the Kingswells Community Fund. KCC consider the matter to be addressed in full, and will not respond further unless requested to do so by the Data Commissioner.

Kingswells Signs

John has requested quotes for the signs. Other tasks are on going.

Councillors

Wendy is now part of the Scrutiny Panel. They appear to be finding some cash for next year's budget.

The North Area meeting is on the 23rd September.

Wendy confirms that ACC are looking at making efficiency savings and are not just making savings by cutting services.

The housing development at Old Skene Road will go before the planning committee in November.

Wendy will check to see if ACC Agendas can be made available by email.

Fairley Road Traffic calming with table type bumps has been approved at committee - now waiting on funding.

  • There are 3 possible sites in the North + 1 other site between Kingswells and Bucksburn for consideration in the provision of the Gypsy Halting Sites. These sites are in addition to the P&R site at Kingswells. The topic will be discussed at the September North Area meeting and will be recommended to go to public consultation.
  • Clinterty
    • Site has a new manager.
    • Work on refurbishment is continuing.
    • CCTV has been installed
    • The office has been moved and the old office area is now used as a communal area.
    • Elaine will get a summary progress report.
  • Halting sites - the money for providing halting sites has to be approved at full committee.
  • KCC raised various objections to the way the cycle path consultation was being undertaken. The lack of information available to the public means that the public are forming their views based on two facts - that one route is longer and hillier than the other. KCC conclude that the results of the consultation can only show that the cross-country route will be the favoured route. The issues of safety of young cyclists and the effects on the existing walks, countryside and wildlife will not be considered.
  • Tom to bullet point his points re the cycle track consultation
  • KCC to write to Rachel Sharp re the cycle track consultation
  • Elaine is to email her points from the meeting to confirm that she has picked up all points correctly.
  • Elaine is to get an update on Fairley Road School
  • Elaine and KCC are to organise a sub meeting to discuss contacting other groups.
