Consultation begins on transport plans

A public consultation on the Access from the North and Berryden Corridor Transport proposals will be launched next week.

Both schemes cover significant areas of the city and the proposals will affect these areas to varying degrees.

The Access from the North aspect of the consultation will identify a
package of integrated transport measures which seek to improve access
from the north to the city centre, from the sea to the Haudagain
roundabout junction.

Measures have been identified to reduce journey times and minimise
congestion for all traffic, with a particular focus on developing
sustainable transport opportunities including public transport, cycling
and walking.

The Berryden proposals will include a dualled link along the
Berryden Corridor from Skene Square/ Maberly Street roundabout on to
Great Northern Road at its junction with Don Street, which would
address congestion problems in this part of the city and improve the
reliability of public transport.

The plans will be displayed in the foyer of St Nicholas House, Broad
Street, for the duration of the two-week consultation period, which
runs from Monday, 25 May until 5 June. A travelling display will visit
a number of venues in the evening and daytime during that two week
period, at which staff will be available to answer questions. The
public are invited to return their views on the proposals via a
questionnaire.

The plans will be available to view at the following locations:

  • Monday 25 May at St Georges Church, Hayton Road from 12.30pm-3.30pm;
  • Monday 25th May at Skene Square Primary School gym, Skene Square, from 6pm-8pm;
