Kingswells Park and Ride height restriction barriers operational from Monday

Height restriction barriers which are being installed at the Kingswells Park and Ride site will be operational from Monday [15 February].

The barriers, which are being paid for by Nestrans and First Group, are being installed to prevent unauthorised vehicles taller than 2.1metres, including caravans and motor homes, from entering the site.

There have been several incidents in recent years when members of the Travelling community have used the car park as an unofficial stopping site. This prompted complaints from other car park users and from the Kingswells community, which petitioned the council to take action to prevent the car park from being used as a halting site.

The barriers have been designed to prevent caravans and mobile homes from entering the car park, but to allow authorised service vehicles access to it via a lockable gate.

From Monday, vehicles taller than 2.1metres will not be able to enter the site.
