Planning Application for 49.2 ft high mast for Kingswells Village Centre

There is a planning application to have a 49.2 ft O2 mast in the middle of Kingswells near the Zebra Crossing at Kingswells Avenue (by the park).

If you would like to object to this planning application and request that O2 find a more suitable location for their mast then please contact the community council by any of the following means:

  1. Email kcc@kwells.org
  2. Use the post box between the notice boards in front of the community centre.
  3. Using phone or letters to any community councillor on the contact list

Please respond before 29th March.

A similar mast at Cults has received 100s of objections.

Some of the issues that KCC will include in their submission include:

  • The location of the mast is very central and many people including school children will pass close by the mast every day.
  • The mast is on a footpath and even though the width of the path will be increased locally, it is not the best location for a mast.
  • Visual impact is significant. There are disigns that have less impact - imitation trees for instance that maybe more acceptable, but given the central location it may not be possible to address this issue in the propose location.
  • KCC appreciate that there is a reception 'black hole' in Kingswells and the community may benefit from additional masts, but the proposed location is not acceptable to the community, and KCC request that this application is turned down at this time and O2 be advised that they consult with the community council to find a more acceptable solution.
  • Although O2 is making this application KCC want reassurance that:
  • Other mobile suppliers will be given access to ensure that the mast will provide mobile full coverage for Kingswells.
  • This will be the only mast required.

If you agree with any of the above please contact KCC and we will represent your view. Unfortunately, individuals are now too late to object directly to ACC.

KCC NEED YOU TO MAKE YOUR VIEWS KNOWN.
