On behalf of ACSEF, I am sending you a briefing note on their proposals for a radical transformation of Aberdeen city centre. It provides background to the project, the current situation and details on the public consultation. The aim of this note is to ensure that as many people as possible are in possession of all the facts as there are many misconceptions currently circulating. It also seeks to ensure that recipients are fully briefed on the project prior to the public consultation.

The public consultation will commence on 11^th January 2010 until early March. The public will be asked to rank what they consider the most important features and activities for the City Square project. They will also be asked to register if they support the development or not. A mix of public events, focus groups, mailed leaflets and email will be used to attract every citizen to take part. There will be ongoing radio and street advertising throughout the period to encourage maximum participation.  The consultation will be managed by Scottish Enterprise for ACSEF.
