Message from the Police – lock it or lose it

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Unfortunately we have experienced a series of crimes within the Dyce area overnight on 16/17 Jan.

I am contacting all the community councils within my area to see if you can spread as far and wide within your influence the message of ‘lock it or lose it’ please?

Although this crime will not affect your area and crime stats however I am acutely aware these thieves are mobile and can operate anywhere within city or shire.

It has been very encouraging that Kingswells has not been subject to these thefts recently however we don’t want to rest on our laurels.

Regards

Colin

  1. Just a note to expand on the issue of ‘lock it or lose it’

There is a problem with insecure motor vehicles and homes. The thief simple walks along a street trying every door to see if they can gain access. If they gain access to your home then it is then simple to find car keys and then access your car.

There is an issue with insurance companies, and some will not cover theft from a car or home where there is no forced entry.
