Kingswells Community Council Members

Russell Ritchie (Chair)

Having lived in Kingswells with my wife Julie since 1998, we have seen many changes, made many friends and watched our community grow. I joined the Community council last year as an associated member to hopefully help make continuous improvements and share information for the whole community. I work in the Oil Industry and have my own business and like most have seen hard times over the last few years, Aberdeen City Council is no different and we need a greater reliance on the local community and teamwork to keep Kingswells Special.

I have been asked to take the role of chair on a temporary basis until our AGM in February 2019, where we hope the new team are all settled and we can have a focus in strengthening our community.

 Ian Cox (Planning)

I have lived in Kingswells for about 25 years. I am a retired Structural Engineer who designed steelwork for offshore structures.

I am interested in planning and infrastructure issues within Kingswells. I also enjoy computing and computer programming.

I am keen to resurrect the provision of better facilities at the field in Fairley Road, and ensuring that they remain accessible to the general public.

I think Kingswells is a great place to live, and I am keen to assist in any projects to make Kingswells an even better place to live.

 Alex Carnie

 David Simpson

I worked in the construction Industry for fifty years from tea boy to M.D. My work was evenly dispersed between heavy Civils and construction. I retired in 2010 due to a number of health issues and this has allowed me to concentrate on our local Community.

I have lived in Kingswells since 1981 and have witnessed the development of our Village first hand. My wish is to maintain the lovely environment that is Kingswells and where possible make further improvement

Alex (Sandy) Carnie

I have lived in Kingswells for 20 years and have been a member of The Community Council for most of this time including two terms as Chair. I worked primarily in Drinks Industry, within both the domestic and International markets, firstly with Seagram’s Distillers then latterly with Tomatin Distillers. I have now Retired and wholly subscribe my time to the benefit of Kingswells

My main interest is to work with our environmental sub group and liaise with the appropriate City Council Officers and other outside contractors to ensure the proper upkeep of all Public areas
