Item Minute Action
1 Introduction by Chair        Alan advised that this would be his last meeting
2 Police Report
Police report was received by email.
Main issues in Kingswells continue to be insecure properties. Access to car keys is gained via door to homes that are left unlocked. A thief simple picks up the keys left near the door and this gives free access to cars in the driveway. As there is no forced entry, many insurance companies do not provide cover. The police will highlight the issue in the Kingswells Community News

Police

‘Dump dumpers’ can use any information found in fly-tipping that can identify the tippers. Tom will write an article in the newsletter. Tom
Police have now been trained to use speed guns, and are now using this equipment to detect speeding in the area.Andrew was advised that the worst time for speeding through Kingswells was at evening peak 16:30 – 18:00.Several speeders have been caught on the A944 and through Kingswells.
The police report has improved and now contains the correct level of detail.Where detail was lacking is day-to-day police business, and is not really of interest to KCC or the public.

Steve is currently campaigning to have the speed on at A944 reduced to 40mph. There was a view that this was unenforceable, and is inconsistent with 50mph limits on nearby single carriageway roads. For a dual carriageway road 50mph is reasonable.
There were reports that BT is still damaging verges by parking on the verges. This was considered as unacceptable. David is to raise this as an issue. David
Co-op lorries are damaging verges around the shopping area. David is to raise this as an issue. Stan will contact the Co-op. DavidStan
It was noted that traffic around the Kingswells roundabout was getting worse, but probably no worse than before the road improvements.
David will find out when the meeting to discuss Fairley Road field will be. David
Steve and Marie Boulton are looking at getting additional bus stops on the A944. Prime Four has the only stop between Hazelhead and Westhill. Going into Aberdeen there are two stops along this stretch of road. This was considered inadequate. KCC support this campaign.
5 Approval of minutesLast month’s minutes were approved.
6 Matters Arising from the previous meeting
As a solution to the issues of parking around the school and surrounding area KCC request that ACC assess the need for additional yellow line / no waiting zones. David will deal with this request. David
The traffic lights at the roundabout stop at 6pm, but the heavy traffic continues until about 6:30pm. David is to get ACC to assess the issue. David
7 Planning & Environmental Issues
Main issues report: Tom is working on a response, but needed KCC to form a view on the need for a full junction at the Kingswells North Junction of the AWPR.After debating the issues a vote was taken with 3 against and 4 for a full junction. As there was no clear majority the absent members were to be consulted by email.Post meeting note: final vote was 4 against a full junction and 5 for a full junction.

8 Accounts
There was no change to the balance of accounts.
