Following introduction of our revised network in September, the company has reviewed the performance of all services, including numbers 11 and 41 from Kingswells. While the company is pleased to report that the changes have resulted in a marginal increase in the number of bus passengers travelling from Kingswells, we are aware of concerns surrounding the routing and timetable etc.
Accordingly we have engaged in constructive discussions with representatives of Kingswells Community Council in addition to monitoring the reliability of individual journeys and are pleased to advise that we propose to make the following changes:
- Number 11 service will have some slight timetable amendments to improve reliability, which will result in it operating via Kingswells Park & Ride site in one direction only. Up until 1300hrs all journeys will operate via Park & Ride site heading to city centre. From 1300hrs onwards all journeys will operate via Park & Ride site from city centre. It is intended this change will take effect from 27th January 2013.
- Number 40 service will be reinstated from Kingswells Park & Ride, providing a direct service into the city centre every 30 minutes in the morning and afternoon peak. The service will operate hourly off-peak. It is intended this change will take effect from 17th February at which point Service 41 will be de-registered.
In the meantime and ahead of this change, the company will continue to allocate extra buses to maintain reliability.
Over the next 6 months the company will consider and propose what changes should be made to accommodate the new Prime 4 Business Park and the impact of hospital car parking restrictions, before embarking on a process of consultation on any further changes.
